Central Ninth Market a place for local businesses to call home

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency has big plans for the section of the city known as Central Ninth. A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held at a vacant lot at 153 W. 900 South for the new Central Ninth Market. This new marketplace is designed specifically for locally owned businesses to operate from. The area already has many new businesses open, and it won’t be long before six more locally owned and operated companies occupy the 9,216-square-foot building.

Designed by Atlas Architects and planned to be constructed by STS Contractors, Central Ninth Market will have an energy-efficient design and make use of locally sourced, sustainable materials and labor, thereby providing some new construction jobs as an added bonus.
